Losing It!: Update 03.26.10

It’s been a GOOD WEEK friends! A very good week. Two weeks ago, I was pretty down. Very frustrated with myself. Struggling a great deal. Last week, I was content. I hadn’t lost much more, but I was feeling SO much better, that the weight loss didn’t matter.

This week – ROCKED! Seriously! The best part. I didn’t think about food ALL THE TIME. I wasn’t constantly planning what I was going to eat and how many calories that was going to be. Ugh! I hate that. What I was doing was living, and watching what I was putting in my mouth was just a natural part of my day. I am SO SO SO happy.

Now, I won’t say it was easy all the time. That would be a lie, and my momma taught me not to lie a long time ago. (That’s actually a pretty good story. I’ll have to share it sometime.) The hardest two days were when I was home with a sick little girl. I would walk into the kitchen for a change of scenery, just because I was bored. I’d go to the pantry, open the door, and then I STOPPED! I didn’t eat! WHOOP! WHOOP! I wasn’t hungry, so I didn’t eat. This is a HUGE breakthrough for me. I can feel you all praying for me, because never before in my life have I been able to stop myself from eating like I have been able to this last week. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers. Keep ’em coming.

The other place I’m having a problem is the grocery store. You can sample yourself right through a full day of calories without batting an eye! Anybody else having this problem? The grocery store is no longer a fun place for me. I get in and out as fast as possible. Which is probably the way one is supposed to shop actually. Hmmmm….

Okay, the absolute BEST part of this week is that Thursday night I opened THE BOX. You know that box of clothes that fit you once upon a time. That box that you’ve thought about giving away several times over the last few months, but kept it “just in case.” I opened it. I dug through it. I was pretty sure there was a size of 18 regular jeans in there. I’ve been an 18W for quite awhile now. In fact for the last two years, I’ve had a total of four pairs of pants I can wear. Two pairs of jeans. A pair of brown pants. And, a pair of tan pants. That’s it. I’ll admit it right here on the blog. Those pants are all 18W. That W is was key for them to get over my rear. (Let’s just say it’s a good thing My Sweetie is a butt man.)

Back to THE BOX. It has a lovely array of pants in it. Some are 18. Some are 16. All are beautiful. All I want to wear. I pulled out the 18 regulars. I slipped them on. AND I BUTTONED THEM! WHOOP! WHOOP! And, I could walk and sit down. Like I could actually wear them. Out! In real life! Shall we all do the happy dance? I believe we shall. That absolutely made my week. Since those fit, I know some of the cute capris I have from a few summers ago will fit. And my shorts will fit. OH HAPPY DAY!

Down to business. Let’s check the goals:

1. Water – check

2. One Sweet Treat a Day – check

3. No fried foods – check

4. Exercise – CHECK!!!!!!!! I did it! I exercised 3 days this week. And, I increased my time each day. Yes I did. Oh, yes I did. Can you tell I’m proud of myself here. I am. Very! Because this is SO HARD for me. SO HARD. But, I did it. I won’t say I enjoyed it. I can say I felt a little healthier after I did it. I can say I am going to try really hard to keep doing it. I pray for the day that I actually enjoy it. I truly do. People say it happens. I pray it does.

Weight Loss: 2.5 lbs this week

Total Percentage Lost: 4.7%

How are you doing with Losing It!? I can’t wait to go over to Giving Up On Perfect and cheer everyone else on. If I can do it, ANYBODY can!

  8. Your happy dance made me feel happy too, even though I didn’t lose any weight this week. Thanks for sharing about the size 18 pants. I think we ALL have one of those special boxes in our closet.

    • Aren’t those boxes just awe inspiring and daunting at the same time. I’m glad I have mine though. I’m thinking I’m going to need it! Whoop!

  9. I’m so happy for you! And proud! I love seeing how excited you are and happy. That’s so awesome. I haven’t tried on “that box” clothes yet. I’ll admit here that you and I are the same size! and thankfully my hubby is not only a butt man but 6’7 and almost 400 lbs so I’ll always be “small” next to him! haha!

    • Isn’t it great that God made butt men just for us. LOL! My Sweetie is 6′ and losing weight faster than me. So, I’ll always be shorter (5’3″) anyway! HA!

  11. WHOOP WHOOP! is RIGHT! πŸ™‚ I know all about that box – AND only having four pairs of pants to wear! I have two pairs of black pants, one (horrible) pair of khaki pants and one pair of jeans. So annoying to have to do laundry so often! πŸ˜‰
