Losing It! 07 16 10

Happy Friday Losing It! Ladies!!!

I can’t believe it’s Friday again and time to report in. How did everyone do?

I will admit that the past two or three days, I’ve not done well. That monthly issue that visits each month. Ya, Aunt Flo. She’s visiting. I WANT TO EAT ALL DAY LONG when she is here. And, I don’t want to eat carrots and celery – I’ll tell you that. The last few months I’ve done pretty well. But, combine Aunt Flo with stress at work and my BFF Katie fighting the big C down in Houston this week – it whipped me. It whipped me good. I’ve had something big and sweet (and not sugar free) for the last three days.

In fact, I’m not going to get on the scales tonight like a usually do. Not gonna do it. It would be defeating.

However, tomorrow is another day. So, I will get up, and I will walk, and I will count calories, and I will work hard to stay in this new lifestyle that I’ve made for myself. I’m SO close to my halfway mark that I can taste it. I SO want to be down a total of thirty pounds by the end of July. If I continue to work hard, I can do it. So hear me say it people! I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED! I will carry on!

Whew! That bold statement made me tired. Time to go to sleep before I eat anything else.

  1. Girl, you are still doing awesome! So sorry to hear about your friend. And I’ll bet if you did step on the scale it wouldn’t be nearly as bad as you thought. But, I don’t blame you for taking a break from it. It’s there to show us how we’re doing, not to control us!

    • I did step on the scale this AM and it’s just a pound. However, that puts me a full THREE POUNDS away from my end of the month goal. I can do it! I know I can. Just MUST show some self control!!

  2. This week I lost 1 lb. I’m chugging water like a crazy woman because it’s stinkin’ hot! I also purchased a Contigo Travel Mug that I had read about in your June 10 post and I LOVE IT! It keeps my water cold (even in the hot car) just like you said! 🙂

    I’ve been praying for your friend Katie (her family and you) during her chemo treatments in Houston.

    And my last question is why don’t I ever crave carrots and celery when I want a treat? lol (Time for me to hop on tready while I ponder life’s deep questions.) See you next week!

    • Isn’t the Contigo Travel Mug wonderful. Mine was in the car all day yesterday and since it had ice in it was still cold when I got back in the car. In ATL. In July! Amazing. So glad you got one for yourself. Thanks also for the prayers for Katie. She’s feeling the prayers of so many. What an amazing God we serve.

      As for your deep question, I don’t know. I’m sure it has something to do with Eve eating that stinkin apple. 🙂

  5. Girl!! You are doing amazingly well and are such an encouragement!! You have the right frame of mind! Just re-focus and stay intentional. You will be at your end of the month goal in no time. That Aunt Flo thing.. yeah.. I HATE it.. but you will see the weight drop in not time flat and can say adios to that sweet Auntie!

  6. Cindy invited me to join in reporting my successes/failures as I try to establish a healthy lifestyle for myself and for my family.

    So, in a nutshell: I want to lose 35 pounds. Before now, I’ve lost 10 pounds in about a month. For a couple of weeks, I’ve been exercising 5 x a week. I count calories, but I am also mindful of drinking enough water, taking my vitamins, & eating plenty of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, proteins, and fiber.

    Lately, I’ve been having some bad days, but I am ready to get back at it tomorrow!

      It sounds like you are doing AMAZING! Eating all the right things, exercising regularly, and drinking water. It’s going to come off. I just know it. But, more importantly – your body is going to be healthier.
